Interview with Lyssandra Guerra

What was your first job?

I was 16 years old. It was such an old school ace hardware store run by 2 brothers. I learned about nuts and bolts, cut keys, PVC pipes, and plastic. Customers would walk to the front desk and ask me for specific tool bit sizes and screws and crazy 3/4 elbow pvc and I'd walk to the back where there were aisles of tiny boxes with these items, ideally within 5 minutes. Eventually I learned, it was awesome, then I worked at a natural makeup store.

If you wrote a book about your current career, what would you title it? Why?

Using the power of magic, intuition, and patience to make sh*t happen  ~~ A 'self- help and how to' book -- so virgo of me.

What about your work are you most excited about right now?

I'm loving the ritual of getting into my vision and taking action steps one step at a time, even if they are tiniest action steps. I'm currently working on an exciting new venture with Tanya Lee Jones from Take Care Beauty. The concept is to blend beauty, wellness, and magic to help people create sacred moments in their own life. What will this look like in real life? You'll just have to wait and see!  We've both been in the health and beauty space for over 15 years and are so excited to bring our years of riffing into a real pursuit that is so authentic and magical.

If you weren’t in this line of work, what career would you want to pursue?

I'd say an alchemist and artisan. I may be heading in that direction now.

What’s your mantra ?

slow and steady wins the race

What are you listening to ?

new wave/goth/90s alternative at work and good ole 70s rock n roll to wind down

How do you take care?

My true blue's are solo nature walks, sky gazing, dancing and eating vegetables.

What superpower would you give yourself going into the future?

omg i want to fly buuut... be instantly learn how to do anything without having to study it.

You have a crystal ball. What do you see?

a good life.
